Submissions Review
Editorial Policy and Submissions
Cairo Papers in Social Science has an editorial policy shaped by its focus on critical social science and humanities knowledge about and in the Middle East. Its interdisciplinary focus invites submissions from an array of social science and humanities fields of inquiry spanning political science, economics, sociology, and anthropology, as well as history, journalism, media studies, gender studies, law, arts, literature, and psychology. All contributions must register the centrality of critical, original research and analyses of past, present, and ongoing processes of social, political, and cultural change in the Middle East and its connections to other spaces in the globe, particularly the Global South.
Currently Cairo Papers does not have the editorial capacity to consider submissions other than English. With each publication, Cairo Papers provides an Arabic translation of tiles, table of contents and abstract. Cairo Papers is also committed to expanding its publication in Arabic, a process that is underway by including English translations of manuscripts published in Arabic on an experimental basis.
