On a more personal and reflective level, an anthropology degree teaches you how to complicate and multiply the world around you; to know that the world is always more than you are currently witnessing. This forces you to see everything more critically, but somehow also more openly, as you learn to also look elsewhere and appreciate the inevitability of change.
The nuance and complexity that I learned to utilize whenever I think of any issue at work today, are things that I learned through my time as an Anthropology student. Most of all, I will forever cherish how my professors were so genuinely invested in their students’ learning, growth, and wellbeing. Not only was this a great support during my studies, but it also enabled me to have eye-opening conversations and opened up various opportunities for me that I doubt would have been open had I studied anything else.
