Hub for Action and Research in Psychology (HARP)

HARP is the new name of the renovated and improved psychology computer lab and research rooms, located on the second floor of the Waleed building. It’s a very useful space for the psychology community to develop knowledge through research studies, enhance psychological teaching at AUC, and disseminate psychological knowledge through public events and written communications.

Psychology students have used the space to work on their SPSS assignments and group projects.

HARP aims to be what its name signifies - a hub or central space to build a sense of community in the department and enhance the growth of psychological knowledge. The resources offered by HARP are diverse and can facilitate not only the implementation of projects but also personal self-development. Everyone is welcome!

The Psychological Counseling Services and Training Center

The Psychological Counseling Services and Training Center (PCSTC) was established in the Spring of 2011 as an integral component of the MA Counseling Psychology student training program. The Psychological Counseling Services and Training Center provides therapy and assessment services and multidisciplinary training for thriving behavioral health clinicians beginning with Interns in the MA Counseling program and those in the greater Cairo region. We actively engage in community wellness efforts.

The training center provides free and confidential counseling services to all AUC staff, faculty members, alumni, and students. Common areas of focus include stress, anxiety, depression, anger, self-esteem, relationship, and marital conflict.

Masters level student clinicians offer individuals, couples, families, group counseling, workshops, psychological assessment, and community outreach. They are professionally supervised by the doctoral-level department of psychology faculty members.
