Bayard Dodge Distinguished Visiting Professorship
With the generous support of the Cleveland H. Dodge Foundation, the Sheikh Hassan Abbas Sharbatly Department of Arab and Islamic Civilizations hosts the annual Bayard Dodge Distinguished Visiting Professorship in Arabic Studies. Established in 1987, this program allows the department to regular host distinguished scholars to visit AUC and deliver public lectures to the university community and the wider scholarly and intellectual community of Cairo. Visiting professors typically spend a week at the department and interact with our graduate students and faculty. Previous visitors have included the late Edward Said and many leading scholars in our field.
