Message from the Director
Since 2011, the training center has maintained a tradition and commitment to developing today’s and tomorrow’s clinicians to deliver high-quality counseling services.
Our mission at the center is to provide closely supervised training opportunities for our counseling graduate students to support them in providing the best possible treatment. At the center, each practicum student and intern receive both individual and group supervision to provide cutting-edge and ethical counseling services to members of the AUC community. Our graduate students learn to apply empirically supported individual, couple, and group psychological treatment for AUC staff, faculty, alumni, and students in a professional and ethical manner. We provide treatment for conditions ranging from support of life transition dilemmas, depression, anxiety, relational difficulties, lack of motivation, procrastination, and general life issues. We also provide educational and training workshops to professionals throughout Cairo and other governorates.
The Psychological Services and Training Center is affiliated with the Department of Psychology in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSS). The center is staffed by a senior program officer, center director, and doctoral-level clinical supervisors.
