Visions Cairo Egyptian Short Film Festival - Fifth Edition
At The American University in Cairo, Tahrir Cultural Center.
From 10th to 19th of March, 2022. Opening on March 10th in Ewart Memorial Hall at 7:00 pm.
Due to Covid 19, seats are limited and entrance is based on a first-come, first-served.
In its Fifth Edition, “Visions: Cairo Egyptian Short Film Festival”
Over 120 short films, including feature, documentary, first work, and animation films (chosen from over 290 submitted this year) are participating in the Festival this year. The festival features filmmaking workshops, discussion panels, an exhibition, and various other events celebrating Egyptian film culture.
A special tribute this year is dedicated to Egyptian leading cinematographer Saeed El Shimi. In his honor, the Festival is holding an Exhibition featuring pictures of his work, and documentation of his professional and personal life.
The Festival has been expanded, and extended to a period of ten days between March 10–19, 2022, and is held in the “Tahrir Cultural Centre” in the American University in Cairo Downtown Campus.
This Centre is among the largest and oldest historical-cultural compounds in the city of Cairo and includes the Ewart Memorial Hall, the Oriental Hall, as well as the Legacy, Future, and the Margo Veillon Galleries.

أكثر من ١٢٠ فيلم قصير يشارك في المهرجان هذا العام، بما في ذلك أفلام روائية، تسجيلية، تجارب أولى، ومتحركة اختيرت من ضمن أكثر من ٢٩٠ فيلم جرى ترشيحه.
سيكون هناك ورش عمل، حلقات نقاش، معرض، ونشاطات تحتفل بالثقافة السينمائية المصرية
كما يفخر المهرجان هذه السنة بتقديم تكريم خاص لمدير التصوير السينمائي الكبير سعيد الشيمي، حيث ستعرض له مجموعة صور لأعماله و توثيق لحياته المهنية والشخصية
قمنا بتوسيع المهرجان، وإطالة فترة إقامته إلى عشرة أيام ما بين ١٠ و ١٩ مارس ٢٠٢٢، وسيعقد في "مركز التحرير الثقافي" في مباني الجامعة الأمريكية في القاهرة في وسط القاهرة.
المركز هو أحد أقدم وأكبر المجمعات الثقافية في مدينة القاهرة، ومن ضمن قاعاته التي ستستعمل هذا العام خلال المهرجان تضم قاعة ايوارت التذكارية، القاعة الشرقية، بالإضافة إلى قاعات معارض ليغاسي، فيوتشر، ومارغو فيللون.
