Type Design Minor
Program Overview
Students will learn about the intricacies of Type in the Type Design Minor. The skill for using and manipulating both Latin and Arabic typography is the main highlight of this minor. Special focus is highlighted to the history of Arabic script and type and its practice.
The minor is designed for students who wish to develop their skill set and gain more knowledge on type design.
Career Prospects
This minor is critical for students considering becoming professional type designers, typographers, and editorial designers. Students will learn how to conceptualize, develop and disseminate fonts, develop lettering styles and work in the editorial design industry. Whether students wish to join a type foundry, set up their own foundry, or work as freelancers, the minor will put them on the right track.
