These are 8 courses that are meant to complement your psychology major. Two of them (SOC 2101 & ANTH 2101) are specified. The remaining 6 are based on agreement with your advisor. Theoretically, they should be meaningful, such as completing a minor or towards a double major. Practically they are similar to electives so any courses can count.

No, courses required for the major can not double count with the core curriculum. The only exception is Biology which counts for the core curriculum primary level and also is specified as a course needed for the psychology major. Also, the major capstone is also one of your 4000-level course choices.

PSYC 3010 can not count towards the core because required major and core courses can not double count. However, if you use PSYC 3002, 3011, or 3202 towards your optional 3000-level course, then you can take PSYC 3003 as an extra course not counted for your major which can instead count towards the core secondary social science.

Yes, minor and major courses can double count.

Yes, minor and core courses can double count.

Yes, if they are different topics you can register for the course multiple times.

Yes. You are required to complete three additional 4000-level courses. One of them will be psychology capstone. The other two will be any other 4000-level psychology courses not including 4001, 4002, 4030.

Sure why not. They will count as two from the additional three 4000-level courses required, and one of them (the first one you complete) will fulfill the major capstone requirement.

The capstone options are 4062 Clinical, 4063 Advanced Community, 4203 Community Practicum. In the past the Advanced Community course has integrated an intensive group “senior project” with reports or papers that were published or products that were disseminated through the mainstream media, but that may not happen each semester. If you need to complete an individualized senior thesis in order to be able to apply for graduate studies in another country (e.g., Sweden, Australia) you can sign up for 4002 Independent Study and make sure to include the word “Thesis” in the title and to complete a full-length research paper.
